Our Story

From Side Job to Main Street

Mudbeard's is run by Jason Armagost and his wife. Jason spent years fixing bikes for another local outfitter, and when that shop closed he kept the wrenches turning as a side job. It didn't stay a side job for long. Ridgway needed a bike shop, so Jason opened one in a rented space on Main Street.

When the building came up for sale, they bought it rather than lose the shop. You'll still find us at 152 Main Street, doing what we love most: getting bikes running right and getting people out riding.

"People would come into the shop and say, 'Where do we ride?'"

Jason Armagost, Owner

So Jason set about answering that. As president of Allegheny Hike, Bike and Ski, he's helping open new mountain bike trails at Laurel Mill and Sandy Beach Park, growing Ridgway's network to around 10 miles of singletrack.
